Tickle Me Mommy

Baby Fred is fairly active and he has been more active at night (while I'm sleeping!) lately. This has made for an interesting and unanticipated problem...when he kicks on the same side I am laying on...it tickles!! It's a very weird feeling because it tickles from the inside. I have a strange feeling Baby Fred could be ornery like his dad...can't wait to find out!

Some Maternity Pictures

Tyler and I took advantage of my step sister, Jordan's, photography talent and had her take some maternity pictures I saw on Pinterest while we were together at Thanksgiving! Tyler was a good sport eventhough I know he would have rather have been watching the football game! Here are a few shots :)

Baby Fred's Room

Well, the nursery is pretty much done so we are completely ready for his arrival (yeah right!!) I've posted some pictures so you can see the progress!

We are still undecided if Buddy and Baby Fred will share a room or not! They are for now!

We got the curtains made and they add the finishing touch (and color!) to the nursery!

Tyler painted the changing table and the airplane; both of which I got at garage sales for $5 a piece! Score!

This shot shows the fan we added to the room too!

33 Weeks

I am at 33 weeks. (What?! I know!!) Luckily, I don't feel as big as I look! Tyler and I are getting used to the diabetic diet (it is not as bad as we were anticipating!) I feel great despite the diabetes and am getting more excited for the little guy to get here! I feel more prepared (as far as stuff goes) because we got so many great gifts at the shower, but I'm not sure we will ever be physically and mentally prepared for the baby to be here! We will learn and adjust as we go! Please pray for flexibility once the little cutie is here. Pray that I wouldn't be so determined to do things one way that I'm not open to going with the flow ("the flow" that is probably God's will for me anyway!) Thanks so much for continued prayer for the baby's health and mommy's health!

Baby Shower

We had the baby shower last weekend and it was the best baby shower I've ever been to! (I may be a little biased!) My amazing friends and Lindas put on a great shower for me and baby Fred. He was even there because they framed one of his ultrasound pictures and had them on the tables...so sweet! The theme was "Tiny Pumpkin" and the colors were orange and blue (which happen to be my two favorite colors!) The food was amazing and very thoughtful because I know they took into account my restricted diabetic diet. It was super delicious and fall-y...squash soup, chicken salad, salad with apples and (my favorite) Panera dressing, mini carmel apples and tiny, diabetic-friendly desserts! We even played a game. It involved memory and my pregnant brain didn't fare so well, but it was still fun! Who know not winning could be fun?! There was a great turnout and I am so thankful for all the people who were able to make it to the shower! It meant so much to have them all there! Thanks to the amazing women who helped organize, create, prepare food, decorate and all-around help with the shower...it was awesome!! Thanks to everyone for the gifts and the time spent celebrating our "Tiny Pumpkin"!

Happy Birthday Papa!

Tyler's Papa celebrated his birthday last Saturday and most of the extended family was able to be there with him (some even from out of state!) It was great to get together to celebrate the soon-to-be super papa! Happy Birthday...we love you!

Diagnosis

Hello all! Sorry it's been so long! Well I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and have a restricted diet. I was certainly not happy about the diagnosis or the diet but it has been pointed out that it will all be worth it when my healthy baby boy is in my arms! I actually have to watch my carbs because carbs break down into sugars and I have to prick myself and test my blood sugar 4 times a day. Tyler has been really sweet and has agreed to do the diet with me. We are still getting used to it and determining which recipes will work on our new diet and which ones will have to wait till after the baby arrives! The diet seems to be working and I would appreciate your prayers that the diet alone will keep my blood sugar in check so I won't have to give myself insulin shots. So far so good and I know it will continue to go well because God already knows what is in store for us! Thanks for your continued prayers for a healthy mom and healthy baby!
