16 Weeks

We had the 16 week appointment and I was lucky enough to have Linda Fred accompany me! The doctor literally put the monitor to my stomach and there was the heartbeat...nice and strong! It was between 150-160 beats per minute. My pregnancy book says the baby weighs around 5 ounces and is 6-7 inches long...that is crazy! Baby Fred is growing! I am feeling and looking more pregnant each day! This is such an exciting time! We find out the sex at our next appointment in 3 weeks! YAY!

A Mighty Wind

Ames had a storm blow through a couple nights ago. Fast and fierce. Our tree felt the effects! Here are some before and after pictures of our very large broken limb dangling precariously over our house!

14 Weeks

We are at 14 weeks in the pregnancy! It has gone fast! Thanks for your continued prayers for my health and the health of the baby.

Tyler's True Calling

Tyler found his calling last week when he cut his friend Alex's hair...he can be a barber if the painting business falls through! Tyler has been buzzing his own hair for awhile, but Alex decided he needed a haircut too and didn't want to pay for it. So he enlisted Tyler! I have some hilarious pictures that show how intense Tyler was and how concerned Alex looked. Too funny!

Sweet Tyler

Tyler and I went out to eat at El Azteca last night (muy delicioso!) and I asked him what he was most excited for either in the pregnancy or once the baby arrives because everyone has been asking me this same question. He didn't have an answer at first because he said it was all so new that everything was going to be exciting, which is a good answer but then he said....the most exciting part was going to be seeing me be a mother! Ahh, what a sweet answer! I love him!!

Independence Day

Tyler, Buddy and I headed up to Iowa Falls to celebrate the Fourth of July with our friends Lizz and Jordan and their new puppy, Teddy. I had been telling Buddy that he had to be nice to Teddy and they were gonna be new BFFs! (You see, Buddy is a fantastic pup but he isn't very social!) They both sported very patriotic bandanas...how cute! Needless to say, they aren't best friends (yet!) but they learned to tolerate each other by the time we left. We had an eventful day filled with a parade and fireworks and the guys even managed to get in a game of golf. The one hundred degree heat lended itself well to a sunny parade (note my sarcasm) and my butt was soaked when I stood up! Sigh. Despite my swamp butt, it was a great Fourth!

12 weeks

We hit the coveted 12 week mark in the pregnancy, which means...we can tell people, we heard heart tones, and we are (mostly) over the crucial hump for medical issues! Praise God! Despite all this I had been having some anxiety about the baby's health issues and a possible miscarriage. This is how awesome God is...I had a normal doctor's appointment yesterday in which he listened for heart tones. (It was great to hear them again!) And I'm convinced God was speaking through him because he reassured me that once we hear the heartbeat that we have overcome most of the hurdles and he was confident we would have a baby! Granted it has only been just over 24 hours, but I have had no more anxiety. I am still praying for God's will to be done and my heart is starting to believe my prayers. I know God can lead me through anything but I don't want to voice all the possibilities...know what I mean? Thanks for your prayers! I have uploaded our 12 week pictures! So funny how I feel so pregnant but don't necessarily look it! Enjoy!

Gotta start somewhere

So as most of you know, Tyler and I are expecting a baby (due in January.) I have always wanted to blog but Tyler wasn't so keen on the idea. Now that I'm pregnant, I figure this is a great time to start! There has to be some interesting/exciting/strange things to blog about during a pregnancy, right? Stay posted!
