We got our family pictures taken while my brother, Cole, was back from Texas for the weekend. They turned out really well!

 

 

Girls' Weekend!

Myself and five of my close friends went to Minneapolis for a girls' weekend at the end of September. It was a great time! We hardly talked (haha!), the weather was perfect, and, despite the great time, we were all excited to get back to our families by the end of the weekend. We left early Friday morning and drove straight to an outlet mall located about 45 minutes northwest of Minneapolis. We spent more time than we had anticipated there but we got great deals and had a fabulous time shopping! We ended up eating supper near the outlet mall before heading back to the hotel. (I should mention that three of the six of us were pregnant so meal planning was important! Hungry pregnant ladies aren't very pleasant and I'm mostly referring to myself!) Saturday morning included great conversation over the free breakfast at the hotel before heading to a park in a suburb of Minneapolis. We (mostly Allison) had done some research and found some rentals at a local park that we knew would be fun and we would be guaranteed to leave with a story! We rented a four-person bicycle-type thing called a surrey and a two-person low-riding contraption called a deuce coupe. (See pictures below for visuals!) They were a lot more fun than I had anticipated but they required much more of a workout than I had planned for also! Fun, funny time for sure! We got pedicures after a delicious lunch at a cute bistro, and then headed to a fancy (for us) restaurant where we had reservations. The food was delicious and the company was comfortable. I'm pretty sure we could have spent all night at the restaurant talking! We woke up early Sunday morning to get packed up before we headed to church. The church service was thought provoking and challenging! It was a great weekend! But with as much fun as we had, we were all excited to get home Sunday afternoon! (I think our husbands were thankful to have us back too! Thanks boys for the weekend away!)

16 Weeks

Go State!

The Frederiksens were cheering for the Cyclones during Saturday's Iowa vs. Iowa State football game, but, unfortunately it wasn't enough to secure a victory! Here is a picture of all of us in our Iowa State gear! I love this picture! Owen looks much older than his almost 8 months!

14 Weeks

Well I am officially 14 weeks (actually almost 15 weeks!) I had a doctor's appointment today where they tested my blood sugar early because I had gestational diabetes with Owen and...I have diabetes with Baby #2 also! Womp womp! I am trying to maintain a good attitude because I have been through it already and Owen turned out pretty great! I just keep telling myself, "It is good for you, Megan!", "It's only temporary, Megan!", "You can do it, Megan!"...stuff like that! (Just took a break to test my blood sugar! Luckily I was writing about my diabetes or I would have forgotten! Lol! Gotta get back in the routine of that!) Yeah, I can do it and it is worth it!
